The Defiant Duck is, in fact, a bar and grill with a very American flavour of burgers, grilled steaks, ribs, loaded fries and lighter salads and starters which all could be washed down by one of their 24 craft or local beers on tap.
They do also offer an extensive wine list, cocktails and jugs to share. Just the perfect place for a drink or two after work or a place to catch up with friends or just a place to relax and watch the world go by.
My husband and I decided to have a drink and a bite to eat before heading onto to watch our son play football. My husband chose The Defiant Cluck which was a grilled chicken burger with grilled pineapple, lettuce, coleslaw and buffalo sauce ($15)
I was unable to finish my salad as it was just too much quinoa! The burger went down well for my husband as did our glass of Sauvignon Blanc.
Things to know; find your own seats with bar service only (order meals and drinks at the bar), it can be noisy indoors with TV screens displaying the latest sporting even but a large outdoors alfresco seating area provided a more relaxed and quieter option. Especially enjoyable on those beautiful Queensland summer evenings.
Parking at Gasworks is under the main area near Woolworths and is free for the first 2 hours. The Defiant Duck proved to be a casual relaxed place to catch up and hang out with friends or colleagues. We loved the name.
