I am a little obsessed with all things cheese, and this recipe has never failed to delight me. It is so easy that even my husband can cook it. If you knew my husband, you'd know that this means it is easy peasy. Give it a try, you won't be dissapointed.
250g camembert (best to do this straight from the fridge) 1 cup of plan all purpose flour 2 eggs beaten, combine with 1 tablespoon of milk 2 cups of breadcrumbs enough oil for deep frying
1) Cut the camembert into wedges
2) Roll the wedges into flour, dip in the beaten egg and then finally in the breadcrumbs. Do this process again for each wedge, until you get a really thick crumb. (each wedge is ideally dipped and dunked twice) 3) Quickly deep fry in hot oil until the breadcrumbs turn golden. 4) Serve immediately
I've had this tapas a few times both self made and in restaurants, my favourite accompliment to this is caramlised onion marmalade, or aioli. So choose your favourite chutney or sauce and enjoy. At Christmas, a great accompliment is cranberry sauce.
Hint: do not eat straight from the frying pan as the cheese will be molten hot. allow a few minutes to cool down and then dig in.
