A large plate is filled with a hearty serving of chips and crispy salt and pepper squid, outside the waves crash against the beach. This is an everyday occurrence at Blue Water Cafe, the restaurant that has helped transform the
Moana beach front.
Deep Blue stands in the spot of the old Moana Beach deli. It was a place where kids would buy a Bubble-O Bill after a hot day at the beach, or where you'd grab the paper from in the morning. It was a quintessential beach deli, but that was it. Then Deep Blue began. What started as fish and chips and a few tables and chairs has evolved into a popular seaside restaurant.
It is still a handy spot to grab a drink or an ice cream during the Summer months, but this development keeps business going throughout the year. A Deep Blue favourite is the salt and pepper squid, usually served with a plateful of chips, but consider changing to rice for a lighter but still delicious meal. One of Deep Blue's newest menu items, Deep Blue's Chicken, is proving popular. Chicken stuffed with spinach and bacon, topped with a garlic prawn and sweet chili sauce. Other staples of fish and chips, steak, pizzas and salads can also all be found on the menu.
Deep Blue also have smoothies on offer, and make a tasty cup of coffee. The smoothies are great during the hot summer months, and a coffee is a great way to end your meal. Depending on what is in stock Deep Blue also offer a range of desserts, including baked cheesecake and sticky date pudding.
During winter temperatures drop along the beach, but inside Deep Blue's cosy fireplace and warm heaters keep everyone comfortable.
Deep Blue's winter trading hours are:
Wednesday to Friday 5:00pm Till Late
Saturday and Sunday 8:00am Till Late
Trading hours can vary during Summer and Winter periods, so make if you want to check whether they're open just give them a call on
