Recently I had the pleasure of eating breakfast at Deckhouse in Woolwich.

This cafe, in the same family as Flying Fish, is tucked away near Clarke's Point Reserve right on the water at the historic Woolwich Dock. The floor to ceiling windows inside the cafe give you stunning views right out across the water to the Harbour Bridge.

We found the staff to be friendly and the service was prompt. The coffee and juice (although not freshly squeezed) were also good. The food was generous and very enjoyable.

The menu is expansive enough to suit varying levels of hunger and to accommodate both sweet and savoury teeth.

Deckhouse is open for breakfast from 8.30am seven days a week. Bookings are recommended.

Blueberry Pancakes with Maple Butter and Mascarpone ($14.00)

Boston Baked Beans with grilled chorizo, fried egg and sourdough toast ($13) and a side of avocado ($4)

Deckhouse is also open for lunch until 3pm and, during daylight savings, for dinner from 6pm. I can't vouch for the lunch and dinner food, but the menu is extremely enticing.

Overall, the bright, airy interior combined with the stunning views and delicious food makes Deckhouse an enjoyable experience. Deckhouse also has a function room, ideal for weddings.
