For 26 years, the (Deckchair for short) has been bringing together some of Australia's best writers, designers and performers to collaborate on incredible original works. Deckchair is Fremantle's only adult professional theatre company, and one of the only companies in Australia that are dedicated to developing and presenting new local theatre.

Located at Fremantle's beautiful Victoria Hall, Deckchair makes for a really unique and special night out. There's a bunch of awesome productions scheduled for this year which promise to bring audiences stories of adventure, discovery, travel, and risk. Below is a few of the great upcoming productions which are currently featured on Deckchair's website:

Krakouer! On Tour (13 July - 21 Sep 2011)

This critically acclaimed production directed by Marcelle Schimitz and written by Reg Cribb takes a look into the lives of sporting icons Jim and Phil Krakouer. Krakouer is touring nationally between July and September and is also playing at Mackay, Ipswich, Lismore, Sydney, Orange and Wagga Wagga.

Umbrella: In The Garden (14 July - 30 July 2011)

Umbrella: In The Garden is an evocative new play about a girl who is stuck in a destructive relationship with her high school teacher. Drum Media praised the play saying that it is: "…contemporary, innovative, showing true bravery and ingenuity from all involved." A quick word of warning - this play contains violence, violent sex scenes and coarse language. It's really intense, and definitely not recommended for those under 16 years of age.

Cut to the Quick (9 Sep - 10 Sep 2011)

Back by popular demand for just two performances is Mark Storen in his latest solo show. Cut To The Quick is a musical adventure that takes a comical look at love. One of Perth's most original musicians, Tim Cunniffe accompanies Mark on piano in this theatrical cabaret.
