What rhymes with chocolate - Yum! Well maybe it does not rhyme, but I think most of us will agree that chocolate is pretty damn tasty. The Latin name for the Cacao Tree is 'Theobroma Cacao' which literally translated means 'Food of the Gods'.
Decadent C's at 25 Husband Road Barragup (see the Decadent C's website for map and more info) has taken this translation literally. They make exquisite handmade chocolates, cupcakes and French macaroons which are not only amazing to look at, but are beautifully presented and taste well er, um, yum.
A full cafe menu is available and the food is well-priced, fresh and tasty. The coffee was picture perfect and served with a flourish - it was also very good.
There was definitely a buzz when I arrived, the parking lot was 'choccas' and I was greeted by a gorgeous modern exterior which blended pleasingly with the surrounding bush. It appears that C's has become a popular haunt already. The inside was pretty much full at midday with predominantly lunching ladies.
The interior of C's is luxurious and spacious. Natural light comes through skylights, chocolate wares are available for purchase as you walk into the building and to the left you can see the chocolatiers at work. Sumptuous treats are on display in cabinets.
The outdoor area which comes complete with kid's playground was full to capacity. The large grassed area frames the play area and a paved section, where, there are plenty of tables and big umbrellas to provide shade.
All in all the chocolate, coffee and cake idea has taken on a sophisticated edge at Decadent C's.
Located near the Spud Shed and Abingdon Village, just outside of Mandurah, Decadent C's combines class with fun for the kids and works that indulgent factor to the maximum. This is definitely a worthwhile stop.
