Are you a quiz nut? Do you love helping little known charities? Or maybe you just love an excuse to show off your awe inspiring general knowledge?
Well, it doesn't matter either way boy do I have a night for you!
Ever heard of the Butterfly Children? Or perhaps the organisation DEBRA? Don't worry if you haven't, not many people have.
DEBRA is a non for profit organisation relying totally on the donations of kind and generous people. It provides support for sufferers of the disease known as Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB for short) and their families.
EB is a rare genetic disease. It affects all ages, and children sufferers are called "butterfly children" as their skin is just as fragile as a butterfly's wing the slightest touch can result in painful blisters. There is no cure, but there is hope money raised at the quiz night will go towards the support and daily care products for sufferers along with money to the research team at Mawson Lakes. You may not be a scientist but you can be part of finding revolutionary new treatments and maybe even a cure, just by donating.
Information specifically about the condition can be found here.
Okay, I hear you asking about this awesome quiz night I promise, you are in for a treat. Having been to a quiz night held for DEBRA before, I can honestly say it will be worth your while. Why not grab seven of your mates, make a table of eight and let the good times roll, so to speak. Can't get rid of the kids? No worries, make them part of your table; you might be pleasantly surprised by what they know.
There are plenty of activities (aside from the actual quiz) that are more than kid friendly and more than a bit of fun! There's something for the whole family.
Remember playing "Who am I" or "Heads and Tails" at school? Well get nostalgic, because it's back for one night, you can have fun and raise money - all for a good cause! There will be a raffle buy your tickets on the night one ticket for $1 or three for $2 now that's a good deal.
How about a little silent auction a little bit of secretive fun, and you never know, you might just end up with the prize you're after.
Would you like a nice new bottle of scotch perhaps? Well, there is a game - adults only of course where you can win one, simply throw your $1 coin at the bottle closest to the bottle wins! A bottle of scotch for a dollar money well spent!
Can't make it on the night but would love to help out anyway? Send in a donation, either cash or a prize, big or small every little bit helps!
