This stunning exhibition opens on 12 July and features over 25 original paintings on display, including Australian scenes and Birds with Movement and Light, painted in Deb's unique style of "Expressive Impressionism" or "Post Impressionism". Debbie will also be showcasing new themes, including Finches, Honey Eaters, Rainbow Lorikeets, Rosellas, and Cockatoos in movement as well as our beautiful Australian blossoms and some different landscapes based on the Mount Coot-Tha National Park and Botanical Gardens and surrounds.
Deb has painted under the name Debbie Parker for almost 30 years after she started her training and established her style in Canberra in the 90s. She has lived in Brisbane since 1996 and exhibited extensively in Brisbane and the South-East and competitions on the East Coast of Australia. Her work is now held in many private collections. This gifted award-winning artist has held solo exhibitions since 2007, with the upcoming exhibition being her fifth show in Paddington and the second at Latrobe Artspace.
Deb is a Finalist in the Lethbridge 20,000 Small Scale Art Prize 2022. Two of Deb's paintings, inspired by the Mount Coot-Tha Botanical Gardens, were featured in the popular reality TV series The Block on Channel Nine last year. Her work received great coverage and won the Living Room section.
Debbie's work has also been recognised in national and local competitions and her work is increasing in popularity each year, being held in many private collections. She has won many prizes, but her favourite category is "Peoples' Choice" which has been received several times now.
Debbie is looking ahead and can't wait to meet you at her latest solo exhibition! She will be onsite from 12 -17 July 2022: Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm and Sunday from 10am to 3pm at the Latrobe Artspace 134 Latrobe Terrace, Paddington QLD 4064. Don't miss the opening on Thursday 14 July.
