Star Wars fans - and by that I mean the world - before you read on let me say you are all so very welcome. Arguably the coolest, and potentially the most dangerous, café in the Galaxy is opening in Brisbane.
Inspired by Eddie Izzard Death Star Canteen comedy routine, Glen Morris of Glen's Espresso is opening the Death Stars doors on May 4th. Did you all just die? I know I did!
The opening is perfectly set for when the force is at its strongest, which is of course May fourth, International Star Wars Day.
To make the opening an event to remember you can expect the empire to do what is necessary. There are even whispers in the outer rim of a pug in a Darth Vader costume!
We can expect food, coffee and perhaps there will even be a few 'I am your father confessions'.
The menu MUST have (Glen or Jeff Vadar are you listening?) Penne All'arrabiata or clearly we can expect death by wet tray happening everywhere.
It is useless to resist, Brisbane, May 4th, you have date with Darth Vadar, meet him at the Death Star Canteen or he might kill you with a thought.
I must admit I am quietly hoping to see Queen Street over run by Storm Troopers, a few Jedi Knights, Princess Leia and Han battling it out all for a great cup of Coffee. A girl can dream.
May the force be with you!
Whispers: This is the café you are looking for
There has been a disturbance in the force. Such a disturbance that it has delayed construction of the Death Star Canteen. The new opening forecast is June 1st.
