Not your average cafe outing, this is a chance to have a cuppa, some cake and enjoy some chocolate. All supplied. It is also a chance to discuss death, although not in a morbid sense but rather in order to embrace life.

This is not a grief support or counselling session. It is a pop-up where strangers meet to discuss death and eat delicious food. The goal is for visitors to a "Death Café" to be inspired and to live their lives to the fullest.



While we value birth, death often comes as a shock to loved ones because it is a topic little considered, especially in our culture, the topic of death is still a taboo topic.

Jon Underwood, a former senior council worker and web developer who founded held the first in 2011 in his home in London. He stated that "we have lost control of one of the most significant events we ever have to face."

Since then the phenomenon has spread worldwide. In fact, there have been over 6,000 s in 56 countries. You can learn more about

The intention is to provide a safe space for conversation, without ideology, religion, or any kind of agenda being involved.
