Head to the Cathy Freeman Park at Olympic Boulevard, Sydney Olympic Park, a new venue for the Deaf Festival on Saturday, 26 November 2022 from 10am - 4pm AEDT to see performances from Deaf artists, visit the stalls of your favourite Deaf businesses and service providers, and celebrate our wonderful Deaf culture. Choose between events on the Main Stage, in the Deaf Kitchen, and the Kids Zone, or participate in some sports and festival games on the grass area. There's also a great lineup of Deaf performers and artists as well as special guest appearances! There's entertainment for all ages, including stage performances, Auslan storytime, jumping castles and more. There's also volunteer interpreters at the Festival to assist with communication. Be sure to stay in touch via Facebook for updates and to view the stallholder spotlights so you know who and what to expect at the Festival. You can also bring your furry friends to Cathy Freeman Park as long as they remain on the leash, and you pick up after them. Public transport is recommended via train, bus or ferry. The event begins and ends with an Opening and Closing Ceremony on the Main Stage, with performances and interviews throughout the day. The Deaf Kitchen will hold workshops and Auslan taster classes and more. Children will be kept busy in the Kids Zone with Storytime, a collage workshop, crafternoon and festival games with parents of deaf children, and sporting events like touch footy and volleyball, which will spill out onto the Grass Area. Make the most of a fun day and connect with community and small businesses.
