Dead Man Espresso is one of Melbourne's most talked about cafes - they were recently featured in The Age newspaper.

They are located in South Melbourne, about a five minute tram ride from the city . To get there, take the route 112 tram and get off at Market Street.

Outside of the cafe there are factories and houses, which makes it hard to find, but once you get to 35 Market Street, you'll notice a bike hanging by the door. Once inside, you can smell all the breakfast dishes cooking and the coffee roasting.

They do a really great coffee and their beans are from Seven Seeds, Proud Mary and Market Lane. Their coffee blends and specials change from day to day, depending on what they have.

I had a long black which was wicked and a omelette and toast. The omelette was quite nicely done and the toast, which was sourdough bread, was also quite nice too.

It's a good spot to study or meet up with friends, although the weekend can be a little bit hectic. They have great WI-FI too.

Verdict: Visit during the weekdays, when it is not so busy and see what all the fuss is about.
