D'Dieuland is part of a bigger and varied complex called Kebun Hidroponik Punclut. It's found half way between Bandung and Lembang high up on a stunning hillside. This place is fantastic for a few reasons. Firstly, it's free to enter the whole complex and have a walk around. I mean, you have to pay for parking at around 2,000 IDR for mopeds per hour, 2,000 IDR for helmet storage and 5,000 IDR for cars per hour but once there you can just take a stroll around. Basically, there are about five to seven different venues within this area. They all offer incredible views. And as it's so high up it remains cool for most of the day and you'll find spots of shade. In fact, I normally take a jacket, just in case.

The main place I like to visit is D'Dieuland. It has a very interesting and imaginative indoor play area with giant slide, trampolines, obstacle courses and much more. There is even an activity board with plenty to press and push for younger children. This whole area is indoors so it's cool and shaded.

Apart from the play area it's perfect to stroll around their multi-level gardens. There are lots of hidden pathways and hangout areas. For example there's a bean bag chill out zone and also hanging baskets you can relax in. I would say some parts are not for the faint hearted as the charm of the location is the view. And this place really has some amazing vantage points.

Older children (or adults) can enjoy a rope obstacle route. They call it a mini outboard area; I'd say, think a smaller version of 'Go Ape'. While you are harnessed in you can navigate along suspension bridges, tightropes and the like. Your ticket for the indoor play area also includes entrance to the lower outdoor play area – you'll find this right at the bottom of hill. Although it's mostly covered and shaded the two metal slides do get a little hot. Side note: one of the slides even goes underground to a little tunnel.

When it comes to eating there are loads of fun and different venues to enjoy. Whenever you sit down you'll be given a clipboard with lots and lots of flyers. Depending on which place you wish to order your food from the staff will radio the appropriate server to come down and take your order. These meals do need to be paid for in cash unless you go to the particular venue; then you can pay by card directly at the till if you wish. There's a lot of choice but you are limited unless you like local food, chicken or rice. Just so you know, you can't bring food or drink in.

A few things to mention – it's supposed to open from 9am, but we arrived at 9.30am and not everything was really up and running yet. As the place is on a hillside some of the paths are really steep. And as for D'Dieuland it would be near impossible to enjoy this location unless you are good on your legs.

Away from D'Dieuland and within the larger complex where you don't have to pay, there's a small path which my toddler likes due to the lighting and umbrellas hanging from the trees. Also if we arrive early enough and it's not busy, we like to wander through café Tasco as the tables are all inside little igloo-like pods. With a bit of imagination in the mind of my toddler these can become anything from fairy houses to tiger schools! But if it's busy you'll have to buy something for a minimum of 20,000 IDR. And there's also a cool castle to take pictures of or from, but it's part of the bakery, so order a coffee to enjoy the views.

All in all, my toddler & I can easily spend a few hours here, what with the two play areas, fun walkways, Instagram picture places, plenty of art work and then a chill out while we eat. Not to mention we sometimes like to walk around the other eateries. It's safe, no cars, the air feels clean and they have enough room to let little people run some energy off – just be careful of all the steps. And the price is good too, in my opinion - we really only leave according to nap time.

When you visit please let me know what you think – did you dare brave the heights?
