Relax, reboot and regain perspective by the river

Internationally acclaimed mindfulness teacher, Dr Sharn Rocco, is returning to Brisbane this June and August. Sharn will be leading Daylong Mindfulness Retreats on 29 June 2019 and 31 August.

As Founder of Mindful Works, Sharn designs and facilitates mindfulness-based personal and professional development retreats, workshops and short courses in Australia and internationally.

Since she was last in Brisbane, Sharn has been teaching and studying in Europe, India and Samoa. Sharn brings to her teaching more than two decades of personal practice, retreats and study. As well as studying with some of the great Buddhist masters of our time, she is an experienced teacher of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and has twice been scholar-in-residence for the Garrison Institute New York.

Whether you are completely new to mindfulness practice, a dedicated practitioner or somewhere in between, a Mindful Works Daylong Retreat is the perfect opportunity to give yourself the gift of a day with nowhere to go and nothing to do.

Throughout the day, Sharn will guide you to reconnect with your inner calm and wisdom. You will leave feeling relaxed, refreshed and inspired to bring mindfulness to life wherever you are.

You will enjoy six hours of mostly silent, guided practice and instruction and there will be opportunities to:

  • Let go of worrying, rushing and procrastination

  • Learn the fundamentals of mindfulness and the postures of meditation

  • Practice sitting, walking and compassion meditations

  • Experience mindful eating and techniques for mindfulness in daily life

  • Ask questions and re-connect with yourself

Mindfulness practice is for anyone wanting more peace of mind, balance and confidence in life. Mindfulness turns down the volume of radio non-stop thinking. It has proven benefits for people experiencing the stress of overwork, relationship breakdown, chronic pain or illness, depression, anxiety and fatigue. Mindfulness practice can benefit anyone who is willing to practice.
