Looking for a weekend escape not too far from Melbourne? Try the Daylesford and Hepburn Springs region, otherwise known as the Spa Region approximately 110km north west from Melbourne.

One of the main attractions of the region is the Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa where you can have an indulgent afternoon soaking in the communal bathhouse. Within the bathhouse there is also the option to enter The Sanctuary which provides access to the salt therapy pool, monsoon showers, aroma stream room, spa couches and the relaxation deck for two hours.Alternatively book for the spa which offers private mineral baths, massages and a wide range of treatments. Whilst in the Hepburn Springs Reserve bring a water bottle and try the various natural spring water pumped directly from the ground. Some of the spring water available are the Sulphur, Soda and Locarno springs or take a short walk to the other springs in the area as shown on the map .
Visit the various picnic spots in the area such as the Mt Franklin Reserve , a small volcano crater which serves as a picnic spot and camp ground about 10km from Hepburn Springs. [BREAK]

Between the Mt Franklin Reserve and Hepburn is The Chocolate Mill where you can enjoy a hot chocolate or coffee in their gardens, visit the store and see how chocolate is made whilst enjoying the natural bush surroundings.Head to the Daylesford Sunday Market at the historic rail station. Open each Sunday from 8am till 3pm. Pick up some plants, home made jams and spreads, bric-a-brac, locally grown vegies and much more. There's plenty to do in Hepburn-Springs and Daylesford so head away for a nice weekend escape.
