If you are the sort of person who loves unique clothing and shoes that you have never seen anywhere else before, that feel so comfortable your feet will feel like you were walking in slippers, then I have a secret gem to share with you.

Whilst the name of the store does not give away its hidden delights, Daylesford Clothing Co is a true treasure trove of unique articles.
Located on Vincent St, the Main Street of Daylesford, the front of the store looks pretty much like any other of the other stores that line this fun tourist destination.
Charming Old Time Stores
But step inside and you will be transported to a different world. One filled with gorgeous hats that look like they are straight out of The Great Gatsby in the 1920s and socks and underwear made out of bamboo that of the softest you will ever find.

Perhaps a little controversial, but due to the culling of possums in Tasmania, there is a range of clothing made from possum fur.
The shoes are not exactly cheap, but they all beautifully made and incredibly unique and so comfortable - it got me thinking that it would be much better to have two or three pairs of exquisite and comfortable shoes than a wardrobe full of ill fitting ones that hurt your feet for $10.
They have fun and quirky socks and stockings that the little ones or the young at heart would adore, along with beautiful well-fitted leather gloves and winter jackets.

Nothing is too much trouble for the owners and it is clear to see that they really stand behind the unique products which they stock.
For me it is worth the drive from Melbourne just to get a couple of pairs of shoes, a unique jacket and a lovely shirt or underpants from this great store and definitely worth the visit if you are traveling through the region.
