Event:

The always popular Dayboro Day Festival will be held together with Dayboro Antique & Collectable's Fair on Sunday 29th May 2016 and all are invited to come along and enjoy the many festivities.

The festival is now in its 25th year and event organisers have promised a jam-packed programme of exciting events, great family attractions, fun kids activities and a fantastic showcase of local food this year!

Entry is FREE for the Dayboro Day Festival, held between Williams and Heathwood Streets, Dayboro.

The day begins with a Combined Church Service at 8.00 am in the grounds of the Uniting Church in Williams Street. The Grand Street Parade commences at 10.00 am and is followed by the official opening and presentation of the Dayboro Community Awards by the Mayor, local Councillor, State Member, and Federal Member.

Throughout the afternoon, families can then enjoy a host of events, attractions and activities - highlights include:

  • 'Kids Passport to Fun' - Kids can collect their passport from the Dayboro Conversations Marquee and throughout the day visit 8 venues to have their Passport stamped and collect their 'treasure'.

When complete, kids can place their passports in the marked box back at Roderick Cruice Stage. At 2.15 pm, 20 lucky entrants will be drawn and will each receive a $25 book voucher to choose their own prize from the book store.

  • 'Annual Pineapple Pie Eating Competition' - Who can devour a Pineapple Pie the fastest - without hands? Ten lucky (or maybe unlucky) contestants will be drawn from the entry box and then the fun begins!

  • All Day Entertainment! - the exciting entertainment line-up includes local musicians, bands, community groups and performance artists. Highlights include Juzzie Smith, KATO the Clown and Bumbles the Balloonatic!

    Families can also enjoy:

  • Watching a Waterless Raft Race

  • Helicopter Rides

  • An Animal Farm

  • Police, Fire Engine and Ambulance Displays. 2016 marks 100 years of Ambulance Service in Dayboro and Dayboro LAC will be putting together a great display to mark this event.

  • Heaps of Craft Stalls

  • A Massive Book Stall Operated by Dayboro Scouts

  • Book Stall at Dayboro Uniting Church to White Elephant Stall and café.

  • Grocery Wheel run by Dayboro State School and much more.

There will also be a range of food stalls on site, backed up by local shops such as:

  • The Dayboro Bakery

  • White Elephant Stall and a Café

  • Rendezvous at Dayboro - Coffee Shop & Book Shop

  • The Dayboro Café

There will also be the DAYBORO CONSERVATIONS program running all day. This year has an animal and wildlife theme, with events centring on Kumbartcho, Pine Rivers Koala Care, North Pine Poultry Club and the Stock Squad and much more.

FREE parking is available at the Dayboro Showgrounds and a FREE shuttle bus service operates throughout the day, ferrying passengers between the Showgrounds and the township. Although, if you prefer, it is but a leisurely stroll through parklands right into the bustling activity at the festival.

Please note the main street, Williams Street, and also Heathwood Street, are closed to all traffic from 8.30am to 3.30pm.
