Day Trip to Mt Buller

Even though Mt Buller is well known for a range of mainly snow season related activities, we decided to go for day trip and have a visit on a lovely sunny day. We found that Mt Buller is well worth the visit even out of snow season.


After a steep but enjoyable short walk, we reached the top of the Summit and were rewarded with views that made us feel like we were on top of the world.


The spectacular views were as far as the eye could see. The compass showed us the directions of Melbourne, Tasmania and other destinations The Fire lookout tower was up the top as well.


We also had a wander around the Village, which of course was mainly empty as it was out of the busy snow season. The Tavern was open and we enjoyed a cold drink while having a game of pool.


There are a range of more intensive walks, bike rides and four wheel driving adventures which can be undertaken at Mt Buller and surrounds, but for us, a family day trip with beautiful views, easy walking and time spent together was our plan.
