Thomas the Tank Engine turns 75
I think we were just nominated as the coolest parents by our little girl. I could see it in her eyes. Today, one of her favourite cartoon characters, Thomas The Tank Engine came alive with the wonderful effort by the team at The Puffing Billy.
From the moment of entry, there was a buzz amongst the little children. To say they were excited was an understatement. There is plenty of opportunity to take photos with Thomas both before and after the scheduled departure which serves as great memorabilia. Once we were all aboard, the steam train started chugging and taking us through the most lush and picturesque settings which was a treat for the adults as well.
In addition to the main attraction, there were lots of other activities, an animal nursery, art play, silent disco, face painting, bouncy castles and more. This year is even more special as, Thomas the Tank Engine turned 75. To celebrate Thomas' birthday, Puffing Billy Railway is giving eight lucky Day Out With Thomas guests a chance to win the ultimate Thomas the Tank Engine Experience with more details on The Puffing Billy website.
The Day Out with Thomas event is held at Gembrook Station every weekend until the 22nd of March 2020. There are 4 sessions to select from. The train ride lasts for approximately 35 minutes. Parking is available at Gembrook Primary School (GPS location: 50 Main St Gembrook) at $5 (cash only). A definite family favourite!
