You know those days (and sometimes weeks) you have when you or your friend or your sister is going through a rough patch? Maybe it's matters of the heart, maybe it's work or maybe it's just a general feeling of restlessness and boredom.

I appreciate that we are all busy and sometimes it's hard to be there for a friend let alone yourself but if you find a day when you are both free then take it.

This 'day' trip below is something I do every couple of months with either my close friends or my sister-in-laws and while it doesn't involve huge volumes of shopping, I guarantee it will pick you up.

Start off with a High Tea in Graceville's Forget Me Not Tea Room.
Who says you need an occasion to have High Tea? Enjoy the decadent menu in their elegant surroundings and catch up on a bit of gossip.

Forget Me Not Tea Room
Address: 389 Honour Avenue, Graceville
Open: Monday to Sunday 10am to 4pm
Phone: (07) 3379 6402

Next stop is a full body massage at the wonderful Urban Retreat Day Spa at Hawthorne. The ladies here are so welcoming, friendly
and really make you feel relaxed without requiring you to take out a personal loan in order to do so.

I would personally recommend the Detox and Tone
Body Scrubs with the Lemon Myrtle - it will relax and calm the soul as well as give you a pep up for the week to come.
The great thing about this place is they do wonderful pregnancy massages as well as they have a special massage bed. I'm sure your friends or family members would appreciate lying on their tummys for an hour.

As well as Hawthorne, Urban Retreat is based in Samford and Paddington.

After this amazing experience, you won't be able to drive too far and you'll need a food injection. Go up Hawthorne Road and take the left at the roundabout and head towards La Quinta at Bulimba for a late lunch.

Known for their funky staff and fresh Mexican food, La Quinta is great for a little snack or a full meal. It's light and refreshing so stock up on the water and grab a plate of mouthwatering nachos or their delicious tacos.

The great thing about this little day trip is that it can be tailored so you can take your partner, mum, work mates etc as well. Also if it is planned well, it's not a rushed day and you can just take your time to go from one destination to another.

Like I said at the beginning, I guarantee you will feel a 100% rejuvenated and energised.

And, depending on how energized you feel, keep a look out for my "Girls night out in Brisbane" article, but maybe you need to leave it for another night though...
