The Seafood Paella at Dawson in Kew, was a beautifully executed dish. Paella is a hard meal to perfect, getting the texture, sauce, filling and seasoning right is an art. The dish itself originates from Valencia, Spain. It is perfect for any occasion, whether on a hot summer's day or cold winter's night.
It was accompanied by fresh seafood such as calamari, muscles, prawns and rockling pieces. The seafood was cooked perfectly, it was neither tough or rubbery. The rice had a slight al dente texture to it, along with just the right amount of sauce.
The addition of salsa verde, a puree of fresh herbs, gave it a refreshing taste, accompanied by a squeeze of fresh lemon. It is easily enough for two people to share and also comes in a vegetarian option or chicken and chorizo.
Dawson is a local restaurant in Kew. It is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
