Stand proud to be an Aussie at Dawn Service
Where are you going for 2019's Dawn Service? If you have not got anywhere set in concrete, you may like to join the everyone at Reeders Point on Moreton Island at for Dawn Service commencing at 5.50am.
You may not know, but Moreton Island was one of Australia's major coastal defence bases during the wars and hence many military buildings, forts and gun placements can still be found at different places on the island.

Cowan Cowan Point provide the main defence base in World War I with another two large defence battery complexes built for World War II; one at Cowan and the other on the east side of the island. There were also a naval base and jetty build at Tangalooma. The remains of the batteries are still present and retain items of historic interest. Festivities for the day will include a Gunfire Breakfast at the Fire Station following the service. To assist with catering, please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org advising the number of people attending.
Kooringal is a small township of approximately 300 people and is situated on the south-west coast of Moreton Island.
After the service on Thursday 25th April, enjoy the rest of the day by soaking up the sun and pristine waters or take a hike to the historical sites.
