Having never been to a burlesque show before, I wasn't sure what to expect. All I knew was that there was going to be a gorgeous array of women who would be paying homage to some of the well-loved DC characters by strutting their assets in the best manner possible. Contrary to how nerds and geeks perceive the ladies of the DC universe, this show was an elegant and empowering representation of some of the finest; including (but not limited to) Diana Divine (Wonder Woman), Scarlet Popinjay (Super[wo]man), Ramona Green (Mistress of Magic, Zatanna), Die Lyla Dash (Harley Quinn, The Joker), Moisty Magic (Catwoman), and Audrey Addiction, with Hugo Fielke as our host and MC for the evening.

Celebrating the women of the DC universe, this show was nothing short of spectacular, sensational, and seductive beyond belief! Staying true to their name, each superhero truly kicked ass by WOWing the audience with their effortless dancing, twirling, and cheeky demeanour that won our hearts in no time.

Each character was accurately represented in as authentic a manner as possible. There was charm and charisma emanating from every single individual who graced the stage (performers and audience included). The costumes were on-point and there may have been a personal newfound love for latex. The level of interactivity within the show was moderate and just right to help us all feel right at home. The choreography undoubtedly left the audience wanting for more, as the ladies captivated the room with their stunning movements.

This is a show that is all about sass, class, and a lot of beautiful ass! The ladies aren't afraid to show off their beautiful selves in a truly exquisite way. You notice that as the show progresses, the ladies unleash their wilder sides, which is appreciated with intense applause and cheering from the audience. There are new perspectives drawn towards the classic characters, who are given a more realistic and body-positive image - and honestly, in this day and age, that's what it's all about, right!?

While this show may have ended for the Adelaide Fringe season this year, we can only hope to see many more shows with an even more diverse range of characters at next year's event.
