Getting into the Christmas spirit is one of Adelaide's most beloved department stores - David Jones - Adelaide Central Plaza . Celebrating the launch of its 183rd national Christmas season, David Jones will be throwing its own party, aptly named Christmas of Dreams .

Now that things are starting to look up in our new world, as we navigate through the many curveballs presented on account of the pandemic, David Jones hopes to reignite the magic and sparkle for which the merry holiday season is renowned. From Christmas trees stationed throughout the shopping plaza, David Jones has welcomed the iconic Magic Cave, which features the vintage carousel, fairy-tale creatures, and animated displays that are bound to put a smile on everyone's dial. The Magic Cave has been part of Adelaide's Christmas celebrations since 1896, when it was established in popular local department store John Martin's. Today, the traditions of the Magic Cave still stand, supporting cultural heritage and providing a community experience full of joy for families.

It simply wouldn't be Christmas in Adelaide without the David Jones Magic Cave. Conveniently located in the centre of Rundle Mall, whether you stop by after a long day of Christmas shopping or make a special trip to the city for a day of family fun, the Magic Cave is a festive season essential. There are also photo opportunities within the store, where the Christmas of Dreams setting can add to the perfect backdrop and experience when capturing the special and festive memories (with photo packages starting at the price point of 23 dollars).

Can't make it to the Magic Cave but want Father Christmas to know how nice you've been all year? Well, fret not because there's a dedicated North Pole Hotline and Selfie Santa activations that have been introduced to ensure everyone's safety and practise COVID-safe measures, as you enjoy wandering through this holiday-themed wonderland.



In the spirit of gift-giving, David Jones has also partnered with Starlight Children's Foundation , which is an organisation that works to spread happiness and kindness to children who may be experiencing pain, fear, or stress from serious illness. Having already donated 50,000 dollars to help the charity with its mission, the store will also be accepting any donations from shoppers to further their cause and provide these children with an unforgettable holiday season. Shoppers are encouraged to donate online or in-store, in addition to considering the purchase of an exclusive handmade tree ornament by paper boat press , with 100% of proceeds of the sale going towards the organisation.



David Jones will also be hosting the ultimate gift giveaway via 'Gift Galaxy' vending machines located across the country and in its Adelaide Central Plaza store, where customers will have the chance to go in the draw to win a range of different prizes from brand favourites including Dolce and Gabbana, Chloe, Glasshouse, Dyson and La Mer valued up to $5,000.

Father Christmas will take up residence in the Magic Cave, which is on level two of David Jones Adelaide Central Plaza, every day until Christmas Eve, with entry to the David Jones' Magic Cave free. Bookings are essential and highly recommended to keep the visit to the store a COVID-friendly and enjoyable experience for one and all.
