"Towards the Light." The name of this exhibition is appealing for a number of reasons.
Taking Willy for a walk
Finally, after months of lockdown and very little actual cultural activity, galleries and art spaces are opening up once again - there is light, and it is not at the end of the tunnel. It is with us and surrounds us. That beautiful Queensland light of which I am such a fan.
And of course, the light is a central part of David Hinchliffe's art. He is a well known Brisbane artist, a favourite amongst the Brisbane arts crowd and his many fans. His work is full of the light of life and scenes from nature and he shares his latest creations with us at the Red Hill Gallery in a solo exhibition which is on from the 9th to the 30th of October 2020.
The gallery has described it as David Hinchliffe's major solo exhibition - "Toward the Light of places, parks, people and passion".

This exhibition includes David's three-metre-long painting of glorious New Farm Park. I think the artist was seen often at New Farm Park painting en plein air and I am curious to see this particular work.
You can preview the exhibition on the Red Hill Gallery website, and shop online.
