Who is David Hack?
David Hack was a young man who had a passion for photographing classical cars, he was also an award-winning freelance contributor and photographer to national magazines and a member of the Toowoomba South Rotaract Club.
Sadly, he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 1996 and underwent an aggressive cancer treatment of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and bone marrow transplant but this did not stop him from wanting to plan a big 28th birthday bash at the
Toowoomba Aerotec Hanger, to include a backdrop of classical and exotic cars as well as historic warplanes.

Although David passed away two days before his birthday, long-serving member of the
Toowoomba North Rotary Club, John Freeman felt the concept of the day should not be forgotten and the inaugural
David Hack Classic Meet was held in 1999.
Now in its twenty-first year, this is a fundraising event showcasing a mix of classic, vintage and modern cars, historic trucks, racing cars, warbirds, classic planes and military vehicles. All under the one roof, this is an excellent opportunity for enthusiasts and families to teach today's youth what it was like in times long ago.
Each year, the public choice trophy is presented in David's memory by his mother, Anna.
The
2019 David Hack Classic will be held on Sunday 19th May 2019 at the Toowoomba Airport in Spitfire Street. Further information can be obtained by telephoning 0407 372 908.
