Lilydale's 5 star gourmet cafe; food service excellence
Daton Cuisine a bright cafe in the east.
A bright cafe in the outer east.

Chorizo omelette.
A zesty spinach, fetta chorizo, and chilli omelette.
You can find good food and service located in the outer east, and just a short hop from the treasure trove of activities found in the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges. Located in the heart of Lilydale just across from the station - this is a handy stop for locals on the way home, for a lunchtime dash or if you are just passing by.

Friendly and helpful service always brings a smile to my face. The eateries that make you feel like a friend, guest and valued person always become a favorite haunt. Daton Cuisine really is the new bright spot in Lilydale, being an inviting and well presented premises. Having opened last August, they have become a thriving and bustling business that will be on everyone's list.

Daton Cuisine present good value for their menu items; the spinach fetta chirozo & chilli omelette is a spicy food lover's heaven. The breakfast and all day brunch menu has other treats such as toasties, pork scaloppini, `lamb' burgers, focaccia, caesar salad just to name a few. Most food items range from $7 to $17 and $2 to $7 for extras and side dishes. Coffee is $3, $3.50 and $4.00 - for small, regular or large cup sizes. See there daily specials when you visit and their Facebook page of the same name, which shows regular updates of specials, and mouth watering photos of gourmet food.

Motto board.
The mottos reflect the spirit of this cafe and you will understand when you visit.

Iced coffee.
The iced coffee wins my vote.
Check out their motto board and the first motto speaks volumes. A discredited food scientist once commented that chocolate is a vegetable, and what chocolate lover would disagree? That kind of comment sounds like the mental process of a helpless `foodie".

Wonderful food, great coffee, beautiful food and displays
great presentation and service. You have to hand it to cafes run by people who know their trade and apply it so well. Currently Daton Cuisine have their Autumn menu. I think a visit just to see their new fine food array for winter is a must.

Daton Cuisine Cafe is the result of work from Shaz and Linda; a husband and wife team who started by completely renovating the cafe and their facebook page shows the efforts they went to--to make the place look so wonderful. Shaz is a 5 star chef and has industry credentials to validate his abilities and great range of gourmet food creations. Linda is a hospitality manager and her people skills provide the cheerful face of Daton Cuisine. The open kitchen means you can smell the wonderful aroma of the food as it is prepared. Shaz and chef partner Mandy love to see the smiles of people enjoying great food.
A bright cafe in Lilydale.
Daton Cuisine is the place to visit for great food and service.
As a team the Daton staff pride themselves in providing happiness and comfort with the plating of good creative food--to be enjoyed by all. The way they express their passion in everything from the design and building of their cafe to the food, service and atmosphere, creating a formidable force in the local cafe scene.

The term Daton is a breakdown of Shaz's parents names and he follows in their footsteps in the industry. Their fame is enjoyed in country areas such as Wonthaggi, Inverloch, Wilson's Prom, Leongatha and Korrumburra. The efforts being an inspiring force on which to build his own reputation and show case his talents.

The cafe is open week days from 8am until 3 or 4 pm and they are closed weekends and public holidays. They are building a website so keep an eye open for more insights and the new menu will be here soon. There is plenty of parking on both side of Maroondah Highway and off-street parking behind the Olive Tree shopping centre. Let them soothe your hunger pangs.
