Are you a romance reader or writer in Perth? A special Stories on Stage event, Date Night, will be held at Koorliny Arts Centre on April 29 at 7pm, bringing three romance authors to the stage.

Prepare for hearts to go a-flutter, cheeks to redden and eyes to widen when authors Jennie Jones, Juanita Kees and Lily Malone are interviewed by Monique Mulligan, blogger behind Write Note Reviews, about their romance-writing escapades.

Jennie Jones, a former theatre actress, will entertain with some readings from each of the writers' books - warning, the readings may be a bit saucy (hence the red cheeks). With her theatre background, she's not at all worried that she'll blush - but the audience might!

The writers will share how hard it is to write a love scene ... and how they get in the mood (for writing) ... as well as some of the highlights, lowlights and laughs from their publishing journeys.

Jennie, the author of several rural romances including The House on Burra Burra Lane and The House at the Bottom of the Hill, is set to release her fourth novel in May. Lily's novel Fairway to Heaven will be released as an e-book by Escape Publishing this month (word is it's on special via Amazon), while Juanita has had two e-books, including Under Cover of Dark, published through the same publisher.

Away from their desks, Jones, Malone and Kees are firm friends who meet a couple of times a year for "dirty draft" sessions, which involve wine, champagne, the odd nature walk and writing.

On the night, a Q & A session will follow the panel interview, followed by a meet and greet over supper.

Stories on Stage: Date Night starts at 7pm in the centre's main theatre and costs $15, which includes the home-baked supper.

Books will be available to buy on the night and 10 books by Jennie Jones will be given away as door prizes, as well as discount vouchers from Harlequin Books.

Other authors already confirmed for the 2015 Stories on Stage program include Joan London, Juliet Marillier, Mark Greenwood and Felicity Young.

Bookings are essential for catering purposes on 9467 7118 or here.
