Women in Big Data Canberra, are hosting a Data science in Space event, which will launch Data Science Week. To host this event, they have partnered with the PAWSEY Supercomputer Centre in Perth and the ANU to celebrate Women in Data Science in Space!

Using the Video Conference, a panel discussion of female experts from the PAWSEY Centre including Professor Lisa Harvey-Smith, Australia's Women in STEM Ambassador and Astrophysicist will be streamed. Experts in Canberra, will also join their counterparts in Perth for the panel discussion.

After the panel discussion, Dr Karen Lee-Waddell will present her research project on processing data from the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder (ASKAP) telescope in Canberra. Following the panel discussion and Dr Karen Lee-Waddell presentation, there will be a networking session, with drinks and canapés.

The Data Science in Space event will be a great opportunity to learn what our scientists do with massive amounts of data that they gather from space as well as network with peers and friends in the industry.
