Centrally located in between East and West Berlin is the stunning hip hotel, Das Stue. A boutique hotel housed in the former Royal Danish Embassy building, it is little wonder this stylish hotel made the Design Hotels Hot List in 2013.

The location for this hotel is perfect, with views overlooking the zoo enclosures, a minutes walk to Tiergarten Park and
Café Am Neuen See, as well as a short walk to Kudamm shopping and the famous KaDeWe, and short drive to Brandenburg Tor and Reichstag.
However, the lavish styling of the hotel make it hard to venture out, even on the bikes available for hire.
Our room had a bath, as well as the rain shower, and free Wi-Fi and iMacs meant work could be done if necessary. To relax, there is a library lounge that spans over three floors, so you don't need to worry about having your quiet space invaded.

The hotel houses an indoor pool and day spa, with a sauna. A great way to unwind before dinner.
While we didn't eat in
Cinco, the Michelin starred restaurant, I can tell you from first hand the breakfast offerings are sensational and the made to order huevos rancheros were an excellent start to my day.
The weather during our stay didn't allow for us to make use of the garden terrace, but the Das Stue Bar excudes a cool vibe without trying too hard. There's plenty of comfy lounges to kick back in for a drink or two.
Stue is Danish for living room, but it should be the word for fabulous!
