This year Darwin is filled with festivals that are not to be missed!

With festivals that are jam-packed filled with music, dance, history, heritage, cuisines, workshops, activities and plenty more entertainment to suit everybody.

Whether it is a family-friendly festival or adults festival, you will find something for everyone with the list below.

1. Darwin Heritage Festival**
When: 12- 18 April 2015
Where: Various venues around Darwin area – see website
Cost: Free & ticketed events
Details: This festival is all about finding out Darwin's intriguing and varied heritage. Celebrate the great Aussie pioneering spirit with many activities such as a spooky night time walk through the Old Goyder Road Cemetery. Learn about the arts & crafts and plenty more. 2. Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival
When: 2- 9 May 2015: from 10am
Where: Nightcliff Foreshore, Casuarina Drive, Darwin
Cost: Free & ticketed events
Details: This festival is certainly filled with plenty of entertainment, with performances, events and activities making this festival one not to miss. This is a family-friendly festival that is comprised of music, art, dance from across the globe, Aboriginal, Pacific, Middle East, Asian, European and Indian culture dances and activities. 3. Garrmalang Festival
When: 9-11 May 2015: from 9am
Where: Darwin Entertainment Centre, 93 Mitchell St, Darwin
Cost: Free
Details: This three-day long festival is celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture with festivities of music, dance, art, cabaret and theatre. This is a wonderful event which will connect the community and highlight the amazing Indigenous talent that the Northern Territory has to offer. Click here for website

4. Bassinthegrass Music Festival
When: 23 May 2015: 11am-11pm
Where: Darwin Amphitheatre George Brown, Larrakeyah, Darwin
Cost: Pre-sale Cap Tickets: $70pp or walk-up tickets: $100pp on the day.
Details: The festival contains a very exciting line-up that includes Justice Crew, The Living End, The Amity Affection and plenty more. There is free bottled water available all day at the event, plenty of shady areas to sit and enjoy the festival. See website for all information including tickets.

5. WordStorm Festival
When: 26-29 May 2015: from 10am
Where: George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens, Gardens Rd, Darwin
Cost: Free
Details: Get swept away with the power of words! Thirty writers across the country will join forty local writers from across the Northern Territory to make this jam-packed event. Some of the features of this festival include talks, workshops, panel sessions, book launches and plenty more. See website for more information.

6. Darwin Blues Festival
When: 27 June 2015: from 9am
Where: Darwin Amphitheatre George Brown Botanic Gardens, Gardens Rd, Darwin

Details: One of the biggest international music festivals in the Northern Territory! The festival is proud to announce that there will be two international headlining blues artists from the USA- so do not miss this event, especially if you are a blues music lover! Click here for website.



7. Darwin Fringe Festival
When: 16 July 2015- 9 August 2015: from 10am
Where: Happy Yess, 12 Smith St, Darwin - see website for all venues
Cost: Free
Details: This is event is an exciting performance and arts festival that takes place in various venues across Darwin and the Northern Territory. There is an array of theatre, dance, poetry, music, visual arts, film and comedy- certainly not to be missed. See website for all information

8. Darwin Festival
When: 6-23 August 2015:

Cost: See website
Details: Is all about new and surprising journeys, with an influx of Australian and international performers from jazz to classical musicians, writers and thinkers, to the perennial favourites of contemporary music, puppetry, dance, theatre, cabaret and comedy. There are arts and cultural events. Be sure to attend this festival.
