A playground, picnic shelters, bushwalks and plenty of open space - it's no wonder peaceful and Sportsgrounds/Find a Park or Sportsground/ is such a popular little spot. Located in the quiet suburb of Denistone, runs from nearby Eastwood down to West Ryde.

If you're looking for a grassy spot to sit down for a family picnic, this park could well be the perfect place. If you want to spread out a blanket and relax, there's plenty of grassed areas - both shaded and out in the warm sun - to explore. A few barbecues are available if you fancy cooking up a feast, while a number of shaded picnic tables are another great addition.

is also home to a decent kids' playground. Covered by a huge shade sail, the playground features spring rockers, a climbing net, swings, a slide and a few more attractions. Oversized stone wildlife sculptures are a nice touch.

Next to this playground is a well-mown sportsground. When not in use for organised sport, this area is perfect for a game of cricket or soccer, or simply a good spot for kids to run off some of their energy.

also takes in some nice little bushwalking trails. The Tall Timbers Walk, which starts at nearby Denistone Station, winds through 's remnant Blue Gum High Forest to West Ryde. It's a relaxing escape from the middle of suburbia and gives you an idea of what the area might have looked like before colonisation.

A bushcare group has spent many years on bush regeneration, and as well as some native flora you might come across species like the Ring Tail Possum, Australian King Parrot, Satin Bowerbird, Banded Rail and Black-tiled Native Hen.

The Leash .pdf lower section of the park is used as a dog off-leash area when not in use for organised sports, so it's a popular spot for dog owners looking to exercise energetic pooches.

To top it all off, there's a bike track for kids to tear around, plus the convenience of public toilets on site. For more information about the facilities at , log on to the City of Ryde and Sportsgrounds/Find a Park or Sportsground/ website .
