Make the most of free school holiday fun for the kids with this great combo being hosted by City of Ryde as part of its "Active in Ryde program.

2 sessions will be held on Tuesday July 1 comprising of a guided walk through Darvall Park and steam train ride/display. Each session runs approx. 2 hours and the walk component is a short 1.5km.

The Sydney Live Steam Locomotive Society is situated in West Ryde and is usually only open every 3rd Saturday of each month. It can get pretty crowded on opening days so take full advantage of this opportunity and check it out if you haven't already been there, the kids will love it and you will be back.

Details of the two sessions being held can be found here, including meeting points and times as well as general information regarding the walk and fitness requirements.

Darvall Park runs from Eastwood down to West Ryde and can be accessed from Denistone railway station. It features a new playground for younger children, picnic shelter, barbeque & W.C facilities, all in a picturesque setting of mature trees and mown grass.

This activity is free however, bookings are essential as places are limited so call 9952 8222 to book your place.
