When a friend comes to visit, it becomes a good excuse to take a drive to see something different. Having never ventured further than the Dinosaur Museum, it was time to take another look.
Perusing the little shops, cafes and heritage listed buildings in Gold Greek, we spotted a cute and inviting store aptly named 'Darling Central'. We moved curiously, like a moth to a flame, and were immediately transported to another era upon stepping into the store.
Two ladies dressed head-to-toe in 1950's rockabilly clothing greeted us in our 21st century jumpers and jeans. We walked slowly around the small store, admiring the stunning clothing and flipping through manuals on how to create 1950's hair, whilst peeking at the shop assistants to assess their style.
I walked away with two handmade hair wraps from LA in cherry fabric, which make me look ever so similar to the 1950's "You can do it" poster.
