It's all go at Darling Harbour throughout December as Darling Harbour Culture Beats celebrates Australia's wonderful cultural diversity.
On Sunday 7 December from 11am to 6pm, you can enjoy a traditional northern hemisphere Christmas when the Polish Christmas Community Festival brings Tumbalong Park to life with music and song. This festival is one of the great highlights of the Darling Harbour Culture Beats program and also a feature of Darling Harbour Santa Fest 2014 . Don't miss the unforgettable experience of Polish folkloric dances performed in bright and ornate regional costumes. You'll be tapping your toes and clapping your hands to the music of the folk bands and lively songs. Traditional craft and market stalls will offer unique Christmas gifts and you'll be tempted by some hearty Polish cuisine like pierogi (Polish dumplings), kielbasa (sausage), or placki (potato pancakes). To finish it off, enjoy a cold Polish beer as the sun sets.[BREAK]
On Saturday 13 December from 10am to 7.30pm, Darling Harbour Culture Beats will recreate the ancient world of Japan. Tumbalong Park will be a sea of twirling red umbrellas and elegant kimono-clad women partaking in a traditional tea ceremony with a backdrop of tranquil cherry-blossomed temples. The Japanese Festival will also present live karate and sumo demonstrations, traditional Japanese music, dance and taiko drumming.

These FREE events are hosted by Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority in partnership with various cultural and community groups from across New South Wales.

Darling Harbour Culture Beats commenced in September 2014 and will continue into 2015 with many more events to celebrate our cultural diversity.

Gather your family and friends and come along to these wonderful outdoor festivals and experience the traditions of the world beyond our shores.
