Think of something fun you can do in the dark. Got it in your mind? Your heart is racing and anticipation is mounting. Your senses are highly aroused and your aware of everything around you. Your fingers are tingling and you can't wait to begin. So what are you thinking of? You are thinking of Darkzone Laser tag in Box Hill, right....right?
This is the ultimate of friendly fun. We arrived on a Thursday night in a group of six and signed up for two games, each paying the very reasonable price of $16 dollars. We were then ushered into the waiting area where we were quickly taken through the rules of the game and how to use the laser guns. My friends and I decided to go for a 'battle of the sexes' type of game, with the girls going against the boys. We suited up with our packs and light up guns and headed into the arena.
The battefield is a complex maze that weaves throughout the building, each run rising up through different levels. The combat zone is littered with glowing lights that shine through the darkness, which really puts you in the mood to kick some butt. The games last around 15 minutes, with you constantly trying to avoid the enemy and stake out their base. After each game, you exit the arena to check on your score and to see who won that round (our battle of the sexes ended in the surrender of the girls).
Be sure to wear something comfy and cooling, as running around can get quite hot and tiring. I think two games was the perfect amount of time to spend playing laser tag. Any more games I think we all would have collapsed from exhaustion.
