Trail Blaze Darkes Forest and Surrounding Areas
Established in 1971, and family owned and run 41 years, Darkes Forest is a beautiful establishment, that truly cares for its horses.

The have experienced leaders and instructors that are keen to pass on their passion to anyone interested. Activities and lessons are available, designed especially for children. Beginner to Advance Riders of all ages are also eligible for lessons if required. Helmets are provided for all riders and is compulsory.

What a beautiful setting, adjistment paddocks, arenas for jumping and dressage work, lots of open space, bring a picnic have a BBQ, or visit the kiosk and gift shop. Open everyday except Christmas and New Years. Plenty of on ground parking available

Experience the thrill on beautiful Trail Rides with experienced leaders through the bush. Large groups of 10 or more may be eligible for a discount. Reliable horses, chose from a half hour, hour or hour and a half horse ride. Packages are also available upon request. They will tailor make your horse riding experience.
If you are lucky you may see kookaburras, wallabys and plenty of other wildlife, it is bushland so snakes are sometimes seen.

Enjoy the Australian bush from horse back, a superb experience and wonderful setting so close to Sydney only 30 minutes from Sydney and Wollongong.

Darkes Forest Instructors are eager to assist you and your children in learning a safe and supportive manner. They match you with a horse that is right for your level. Safety is their number one priority. Weekends are mainly their most popular times for lessons and weekday lessons are also available upon request. Private, semi private and group lessons can be a trail or arena lesson or both. Due to safety reasons trail lessons are only available to over 7 years old.

Darkes Forest offer varied activities to suit every age.Ride a Chuck Wagon, relive the era of yesterday booking required and run weekends only.

The staff are wonderfully friendly, and their horses have character indeed.

Darkes Forest also have adjistment paddocks. On a personal note, I think Darkes Forest love for these horses are second to none. Friends of mine have been coming here for years and happily adjusted their own horses at Darkes Forest.
