Experience the beauty of the native bush land from a saddle, without having to travel too far from home. Just an hour and 10 minutes south of Sydney, and 30 minutes north of Wollongong you can have the whole horse riding experience.

Darkes Forest Riding Ranch is a family owned and operated ranch that provides fun and adventure to people of all ages. It is a great place to have riding lessons or to simply enjoy a trail ride led by experienced riders and instructors, who provide a safe and educational experience. There is a wide range of trails and packages in which you can choose to best suit your level of experience and adventure.

Trail rides start from $48 for a one hour Bush Trek ride, $75 for an hour and a half Adventure Ride and $90 for a two hour Scenic Ride. If you're a morning person why not try the Sunrise early birds package that will not only take you on a one and a half hour ride, but will provide you with a delicious breakfast on your return to make your morning complete. If the sunup trail ride isn't your thing maybe the Chuck wagon package is more suitable for you. A one and a half hour tour commencing at noon, and then returning for a fulfilling lunch prepared for you while on your trail ride. If you wanted a little more from your horse riding experience, the Dark at Darkes package can provide a twilight trail ride with the opportunity to see native wildlife in an environment you have never seen before.

Whether you go with one person or a group of people you will enjoy it and want to go back for more. What better way to do so then to organise a custom package for you and your friends, and receive a discount on all trail rides and packages with a group of 10 or more.

But of course riding is more fun if you know how to do it, so why not take lessons and learn how to ride a horse properly. Before jumping on the horse the experts match you with a horse that's right for your skill and confidence level. Lessons can be private shared or group lessons and can be half an hour or a full hour. Private, semi-private and group lessons can be a trail lesson or an arena lesson, or a combination.

The staff at Darkes Forest Riding Ranch have really left everything up to you. You can control the level of fun you have and all for a small cost. Get on a horse on go for a ride on the wild side.
