The Darebin Music Feast began on the 20th of September and will close its doors on the 7th of October. The program has over 180 events, many of them are free. A number of the gigs are being held in Northcote and Thornbury, 15 minutes from the Melbourne CBD. You can catch Tram #86 from the city to many of the venues.
Some of the highlights still to come this weekend include the soulful voice of Lizanne Richards, the sassy sounds of I Vagabondi complete with Italian food and the folk-pop act The Bon Scotts at their EP release.
Free events worth checking out are the free jam sessions for beginner musicians of all ages at Wendy's Music, the funky tunes of The Rabalthazers and Darebin Music Feast Songwriters Award Grandfinal.
There's even something for the kids over the school holidays with a special Music Feast for Kids Program. On Saturday the 6th of October Flap! provide the fun and entertainment in two shows at the Northcote Town Hall.
