After moving from a hostel to a motel, most motels will seem like heaven, however The Darcy Arms truly is a lovely little spot.

My boyfriend and I spent the weekend in The Darcy Arms Motel in a nice sized room, with a double bed and a single. The shower was powerful and hot, and the room came with facilities including; TV, heater, hair-dryer, iron board and iron, toaster, kettle and tea/coffee and snack making cutlery.

The complex has 18 rooms, all of which I have been assured are as nice as the one we stayed in by the friendly staff who were always keen to help. The complex also has a nice small pool area and sunbathing deck. We paid $110 dollars per night for the both of us which worked out cheaper than most hostels over the weekend.

We ate dinner one night in the Darcy Arms which was reasonably priced and was an enjoyable meal. They also offer 'bar stacks' during the day which are a fair size for the price. The bar itself is a proper Irish pub not like the Irish bars in central surfers as it has that friendly, homely pub atmosphere feel to it.

Location isn't fantastic as it is on the main road, however at night it is quieter and away from the loud noises of drunk people in the centre of Surfers.

If visiting Surfers for a week or less I'd definitely recommend this spot, clean, safe and reliable. Please check out their website at www.darcyarms.com.au
