Family owned since 1995, Danny's Thai Bistro at Norwood is a great place to enjoy a wide range of Thai dishes. Aside from the dishes listed on their menu, they also have a selection of specials listed on a chalkboard on one of the walls of the restaurant.
Offered as a special during our visit, the Goolwa cockles in their Goolwa Cockles with Holy Basil Chilli were cooked just right with the cockles having a delightful slightly salty flavour. The sauce used in the dish gave it a spicy flavour that was not too hot.

While it can be a bit salty for some tastebuds, the slices of beef in their Garlic & Pepper Crispy Yearling Beef were crispy with the garlic and pepper seasoning giving the dish a delectable garlicky flavour. Served with the dish was some sweet chilli sauce to dip the beef in to balance out its salty flavour.

To our delight, the slices of duck in their Panang Roast Duck Curry were quite generous as similar dishes offered at other Thai restaurants we visited can sometimes be a bit stingy on the number of duck pieces. The vegetables cooked with the duck had the right amount of bite to them with the curry being hot enough to bring out the taste of the duck.

The décor of the restaurant had a slight formal feel, though the tables were spaced a bit close to each other. This restaurant was a state favourite Thai restaurant winner in 2012.
