AFL legends Dane Swan and Glen Jakovich will talk to and mingle with footy fans at the Carlisle Hotel on May 27.

Former AFL Collingwood star, Dane Swan, will be appearing in conversation with former West Coast Eagle, Glen Jakovich, at The Carlisle Hotel on May 27.

Swan, whose achievements include a Brownlow Medal in 2011, premiership player, three-time Copeland Trophy winner and five-time All-Australian is recognised as one of the modern era's great midfielders before he retired in 2016 and is no stranger to controversy.

He will be at The Carlisle with Jakovich from 5pm to 7.30pm as part of the hotel's focus on AFL.

Tickets for the event are $30 per person or $250 for a table of 10, pre-purchased and are available by phoning (08) 9361 1544.

Full bar facilities will be available throughout the evening with a selection of $10 meals available for purchase from 5pm to 7.30pm.

With Optus Stadium just up the road, The Carlisle has become a focal point for football fans.

Glen Jakovich has taken on the role of sporting ambassador for the hotel as it builds its profile as a football melting pot.

Hotel owner David Doyle, who bought the pub because of its proximity to Optus Stadium, says the conversion of what used to be an Irish pub to a refurbished hotel with a focus on footy, great pub food and plenty of other entertainment has really come to the fore this year.

A Carlisle Hotel footy show in June will feature Karl Langdon, Mark Readings, Paul Hasleby and Glen Jakovich.

The Carlisle has already become a focus for WA country people who have just about booked out all the hotel's refurbished rooms for game days.

David says guests come and stay to enjoy the great atmosphere of like-minded footy fans, get to meet players past and present and enjoy some good pub food and a beer or a glass of wine in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Carlisle train station is right across the road from the hotel and Optus Stadium is around a five-minute train journey away for those heading to local games.

There are more than 90 free car parking bays at The Carlisle.

David says using The Carlisle as a base makes for a perfect match day footy experience.

Every game day The Carlisle endeavours to have a player at the hotel to chat to patrons.

A mystery speaker who plays for either the Eagles or the Dockers will address the June footy show.

They have a footy show scheduled for mid-June which will feature Karl Langdon, Mark Readings, Paul Hasleby and Glen Jakovich with a guest speaker who is a current player for either the Eagles or the Dockers.

Jeremy McGovern was the most recent player to speak, but the hotel also goes wider afield than the local teams to bring in talent.

David says the hotel likes to enable former premiership players in a social environment to mix with the patrons.

The hotel has multiple big screens and includes all three Fox football stations so patrons can watch every live game.

After the game, entertainment shifts to music for the wind-down and each game day has a restaurant special to ensure good value tasty meals.

As an added incentive for patrons, The Carlisle in association with CUB is holding a raffle to win tickets for two including flights and accommodation to the 2019 Grand Final along with heaps of other footy prizes.
