Free activities for budding kid artists at Open Studio 2019
Do you love art and love meeting the artists? Then this is the weekend for you! The Burrinja Gallery is having their annual Open Studios across the leafy green hills of Melbourne, on the 30th and 31st of March, 2019. This is a fabulous way to meet the artists in their own studios and see how they create those awe-inspiring works of art. You get to travel around the beautiful hills of the Dandenongs and go straight to the home galleries of hundreds of famous artists around the area. This is a great event for families and for other artists who want to learn other art techniques. Your imagination is all you need and this wonderful open weekend.

This is a great weekend getaway, with accommodation throughout the hills, especially many local Bed and Breakfasts. You will be surrounded by the green of the hills and some of our most exotic birdlife. If you stop at Sherbrooke Forest Park, you may even be able to feed the rosellas and cockatoos. My kids love this. When they were little, the rosellas were so tame, they would land in their hair.

There will be heaps of activities for the kids as well. And the Dandenong Ranges are dotted with wonderful pubs and quaint towns.

But you need to start at the Sherbrooke Art Gallery and pick up your touring booklet. Normally this is held at the Burrinja Art Gallery, but they are in the middle of renovations.
