Get outdoors and take the family on a safe bike ride
You look out the window when you wake up. It's a beautiful sunny Sunday morning and you think to yourself - what a wonderful day to go on a nice slow bike ride with the family.

The rest of the morning is spent thinking about reasons not to do it. No time. I have to do the washing. I have to mow the lawns and on and on... Just do it! You're missing something here.

There is a beautiful bike path from the Dandenong Basketball Stadium all the way to Jells Park. The bonus with this ride is you end up at the Jells Park cafe, which serves great food and great coffee in the most tranquil surroundings. Check out the menu. Just beautiful.

Jells Park Cafe - Your Destination

It's via the Dandenong Creek Trail and is about 11km there and the same back.

Dandenong Basketball Stadium

Park your car at the stadium and make your way towards the Monash freeway underpass. You don't have to cross any main roads. The path leads you to an underpass for every road crossing.

From there you have safe, clean, relatively flat pathways all the way.

Nice pathways

You do get to ride next to the Dandenong Creek where you will see small waterfalls and an abundance of bird life.

Beautiful Scenery

There are plenty of rest spots along the way including a toilet stop at the East link BP Service Station. Sign posts will direct you there.

All in all, a great fun way to spend half a day. Lots of things to see and do on the way, some family time as well as the great exercise of bike riding.

Great review! Sounds like a nice place to visit and it's brilliant to find somewhere safe to cycle.
