I am a world traveller & a mom of two, (8 & 6). I love to meet people, and am fascinated that there are 7 billion stories out there to be explored. I think Melbourne is the most happening city to live in with all the fun activities around town.
Children's Festival - Here We Come
Mark your calendars for at least one of the hundreds of events that are being organized during the Spring School Holidays by the City of Greater Dandenong under the title of "Greater Dandenong Children's Festival".
The City of Greater Dandenong has a rich and diverse history, not to mention a hugely multi-cultural and multi-lingual population. Growing as one of the biggest suburbs of Melbourne, the City of Greater Dandenong has been undergoing a facelift in recent years, preserving the heritage sites for their historical significance. One of my favourite places is the Dandenong Market, which has recently been re-vamped for a whole new look, and is a great place to buy fresh fruits and vegetables and a whole lot more.
The Children's Festival is a great excuse to explore the area if you have not done so already. The variety of activities is unbelievable, ranging from performances and events, exhibitions, games, workshops and adventures in the outdoor. To accommodate all these activities, they are being held at different venues within the City of Greater Dandenong, ranging from local libraries, to the Drum Theatre, to Heritage Hill, to Community Centres, Art Galleries and lots more.
The program can easily be accessed on the website and provides a detailed guide to all events. Some events can only be attended by registering for them, so make sure you do that well in advance so as not to miss out on the opportunity. Most events are free, whereas others have costs associated with them. For all the latest updates, you can also follow their page dedicated to the Festival on Facebook.
