The Dandenong Market

Hot, sugar jam donuts are synonymous with markets everywhere. It starts with the smell, followed by that magnificent taste. Still warm, you eat them straight from the bag while walking the market rows and it's the perfect day out.

The Dandenong Market appreciates this fine association and on Sunday 4th September is hosting a FREE Donut Eating Competition for anyone who also love these sugary jam-filled treats.

The competition aspect is easy - eat as many donuts as you can in two minutes. There will be five competition rounds and the top five from each round will advance to the final showdown, where the challenge will be to eat 20 Dandee Donuts in record fast time.

The winner of the ultimate Dandee Donut eating championship will take home $200 worth of market vouchers. Yum!

There is a limit of 25 contestants, who will be selected randomly from the competition registrations. You can register via the Dandenong Market website site, and successful applicants will receive a notification email by Friday 27th August 2016. Entrants must be aged 18 years and over.

The Dandee Donut Eating Competition is being held on Sunday 4th September at 12noon in the Market Square at the Dandenong Market, corner Clow and Cleeland Streets, Dandenong. Entry in the competition is free.
