It's the end of the school holidays and all the kids are getting back into the school routine. But if your child is still itching for a bit of after school fun, then pop down to DancEdge in Kambah. Situated on the corner of Boddington and Carlton streets, this two-studio dance school is the place to be, keeping the young ones busy with a range of classes in dance for various ages and abilities.

But it's not all for the kids, with classes ranging from 2 years through to adults, and from beginners to advance. Each class is run by qualified and First Aid certified teachers and assistant teachers.

At the end of each year two concerts are held at the Erindale Theatre. The fairy floss class have their own little concert during the morning, as the nights are too late for the little ones. These performances are filled with amazing handmade costumes, exciting colour and talent. With backstage assistance from the Theatre crew, parents, teachers and older students, each concert looks professionally done.

DancEdge runs a Performance Troupe on Saturday afternoons specialising in competition work for eisteddfods. DancEdge have competed in many over the past 6 years, including the Dance Around the World Tour in America and the Australian Dance Festival in Sydney. They recently performed on the P&O Pacific Jewel cruise ship to 900 fellow passengers, an experience anyone would enjoy!

DancEdge also offers students preparation and guidance for those wanting to make a career in dance or performing arts. Three previous students (who also worked as teachers for the school) have gone on to study dance fulltime at performing arts schools in Adelaide and Sydney. Examinations are taken annually following the ATOD syllabus. But this is of course optional for all students.
