The hottest event on the vegan calendar comes to the Alexandra Gardens in Melbourne on Sunday the 6th of November from 10am to 4pm. If you're wondering what (DFTA) is all about, much like the movie, Snakes on a Plane, the clue is in the name.

DFTA is a family-friendly, one-day event that will feature a special guest live DJ and talented dancers to get the crowd mooooving (see what I did there?). As well as dancing, there will be vegan food trucks and stalls, photo booth, prizes for most creative costumes, and a variety of entertainment including speakers, silent disco and more to be announced as the event draws near.

The event is a fundraiser for Vegetarian Victoria , an organisation who work to promote the health, animal welfare, and environmental benefits of vegetarianism and veganism. Ticket prices are not yet available but you can sign up for ticket updates here .

DFTA is your opportunity to grab that hilarious animal onesie you wore to your work Christmas party from the bottom of the wardrobe, and join in an attempt to set a world record for the biggest group of people dressed in animal costumes dancing to Watch Me from one hit wonder, Silento. There will be hip-hop dancers there to guide you to make sure your 'stanky leg' is en pointe.

DFTA are also looking for volunteers for roles including social media, production and admin. You can register your interest here .

I think vegans and omnivores alike would easily find something to enjoy at this event and it's great if awareness and funds are raised in the process.
