I have a had a life-long love of the arts; enjoying theatre, ballet, art and movies. We are all time poor and have limits to our entertainment budget so I hope an honest review will help make your choices easier.
Textile Art Installation - enjoy, experience, learn
Between Monday 15 and Sunday 21 October, Flowstate and Metro Arts invite you to join Dana Lawrie, an emerging Brisbane artist, as she creates a new installation that will reflect on the nature of permanence and impermanence.
Flowstate, located at Brisbane's Southbank is a space designed for Brisbane locals and visitors, who are invited to interact with some of Queensland's leading artists. You can witness performance work in development or participate in workshops and art discussions. Flowstate can be found at the Arbour, Tribune Street, Southbank.
In this creative space, Dana will be using handmade botanical inks and textiles to create a new installation. Many of the inks will be made from photosensitive and indelible flowers—thus the permanence/impermanence theme. During the Plants in Practice and Artist Talk sessions you can learn how Dana creates these magical natural dyes.
