Are you chicken?
My partner and I travel to Hawthorn on a Thursday (after he's finished work) so that he can spend time at the Connected Community Hacker Space working on personal projects that require a large workshop area to work in. One of the great things about going to the CCHS is that it's located near Burwood Road in Hawthorn, which means there's pretty much an endless supply of interesting restaurants and cafes.
Damso Factory Korean Restaurant is cosy eat-in restaurant that also has a take-away option. The staffs, friendly and welcoming, were able to answer all of my questions (which were numerous, as I had never had Korean food before). We ordered the Crispy Fried Chicken (half portion) and Co-curry Chicken:
Crispy Fried Chicken (half portion):
Image Description: a cardboard box with grease-paper down the bottom filled with crumbed boned-chicken-pieces
Image Description: A large plastic-bowl of curried egg-noodles with chicken pieces, bird's eye-chillies and various stir-fried vegetables.
Image Description: a small container with pieces of cabbage with chilli sauce
Image Description: a small container with bean-sprouts and spring onion
Image Description: Green and purple lettuce leaves, spinach and rocket leaves with a creamy sauce
The Crispy Fried Chicken was absolutely delicious, however, the pieces contained bones and the bones required some effort removing. The Co-curry Chicken wasn't too spicy but the bird's-eye-chilli is incredibly spicy. If you're looking for a quality cheap-eat located on Burwood Road, Damso Factory is ideal.
